It started when Lynn bought a dremel. My eyes lit up when I learned that it could etch glass. When he suggested I make his birthday present with this new toy, he gave me the motivation I needed to try something new.
I found etching glass requires a tremendous amount of patience and focus. But there is something about the tool's hum; the slow, focused movements of the burr; and how the glass slowly transforms into something beautiful. It is cathartic, and I am hooked. Lynn and I now partner in bzb creative - mostly because I need to find something to do with all this glass once I've played with it! Lynn handles all the business stuff, talking to people, etc - which he loves... and I handle the etching. We collaborate on ideas, and look forward to enjoying our hobby in the months (and years?) ahead. |
